Seniors: Ms. Kelsey has tickets for the Senior Banquet in her office. They are $10 each. 

 

“Frozen” tickets are now on sale at Central office.  Admission is $5.00 and there is limited seating.  Drama will perform Frozen for the high school students Thursday 29th, at 10:00 a.m.

 

Student Council will be sponsoring a Blood Drive on Wednesday, April 28. If you would like to donate, please sign-up with Mrs. Jewell or Mrs. Rowe.

 

Pantherettes will travel to Bismarck today for a make-up game.  Varsity will begin at 4:30. Girls will be released at 11:20

We will host the Jr. District Track meet tomorrow.  No students are to park in the Fieldhouse parking area tomorrow morning.

All 11th graders will be taking the ASVAB Wednesday, April 7th in the auditorium.  The ASVAB is an aptitude test that will give you information about the jobs and careers in which you would excel.  You will gain valuable information that will help you as you determine your future career plans as you get ready to go to college, the military, vocational school, or directly into the workforce.  Please report directly to the auditorium at 8:00 that morning.

Beginning today All outside doors will be locked at 8:00 a.m.   All students will check in out of the office.  Do not exit any door except the front door when leaving.  You will check out in the office.  This includes all students.

 

During class changes, we will stay in the hallways from now on.  Everyone will stay to the right at 3 feet apart.

 

Students we will start counting Tardies beginning tomorrow.  Teachers make sure you look at your tardy policy.  It is in your memo today.

Reagan Burden and Chloe Silva will be attending the Arkansas State SkillsUSA Officer Pinning Ceremony in Malvern, AR today. Reagan is currently serving as State Treasurer and Chloe is serving as State Historian.  Congratulations to these students.

Students interested in participating on the Ashdown Schools Shooting Sports Teams are required to attend a meeting tonight at the Ashdown High School cafeteria at 7pm.  Parent information sheets are in the office. Students who are interested in participating should pick up a copy for their parent. There is a $100 fee due at the mandatory meeting tonight at 7:00 pm.

Students interested in participating in the Ashdown Schools Shooting Sports Teams are required to attend a meeting on Thursday, January 21st at the Ashdown High School cafeteria at 7 pm.  Parent information sheets are in the office at each campus. All Juniors will be taking the ACT tomorrow morning, in the 300 hallway.  Juniors need to make sure they are in the cafeteria that morning no later than 8:00.  Testing room rosters will be posted on the trophy case in the cafeteria and in the 300 hallway outside Mr. Hopkins' classroom.  Please check to see where you will be testing.  Calculators and pencils will be provided.

The test schedule for next week will be as follows:  Monday will be a regular school day.  Tuesday will be Full Day of Semester Review.  Wednesday will be 1-4 period testing beginning at 8 a.m. and ending at 12 p.m.  Thursday will be 5-7 period testing beginning at 8 a.m. and ending at 11:00 a.m.  Lunch will be served both of those days as soon as testing is complete for the day.  Buses will not run until 3:23 both test days.  You will not check-in or out of the office on the test days and no messages will be taken from Parents to check you out.  Make sure you are here on time for testing.  Each test will begin on the hour.

Congratulations to all of our Agri Students that represented Ashdown High school the past 2 weeks in Little Rock at the State Fair.  Caylee Turner won Grand Champion Arkansas bred goat and top 15 overall in the market goat show.  Sam Ratliff won 3rd in division 1 & 2 in Market Lamb show and finished in the top 15 overall.  Lyndon Youngblood won the Grand Champion market hog.  Lyndon also won reserve Grand Commercial gilt and champion gilt senior showman.  Way to go Panthers.

All students that would like to join FBLA please see Mrs. Tipton or Mrs. McCormack.  The membership drive will go through Sept. 20th.  Dues are $30 and include National, State, and Local dues as well as the t-shirt fee and first conference fee in October. We look forward to another successful year.

 

Serenity Café will be opening next week. 

 

Mrs. Ringgold’s Tutoring Program will be hosting the Homecoming Dance that will be held after the Homecoming game, September 13. Tickets are $5. She will not begin selling them until tomorrow.

Students will be voting for Homecoming Court.  Voting will be open from 8-3:23.  Students will need to vote in the classroom they dock their Chromebooks or in the library if their Chromebook is not there.

Class officer elections will be held via an emailed form on Thursday, August 22.  The positions available are President, Vice President, Secretary/Treasurer, and Reporter.  If you are interested in running, please email Mrs. Smith at ssmith@ashdownschools.org.  Please state the position you would like to run for and what grade you are in.  If you are a Student Council Officer, you may not run for class officer.  Class officers will have LOTS of responsibility during homecoming week and throughout the school year.  If you are not organized and responsible, please do not run.

 

School Pictures will be taken this Wednesday.  You should have picked up your order envelope in your English Classrooms.  You will have to provide payment in the envelope to present to the photographer Wednesday.
