Both Panther teams be playing in the 3A State Championship games this Saturday. SkillsUSA is hosting a donation drive in the months of May & June to benefit the Domestic Violence Prevention shelter that serves Little River County. The shelter currently needs donations of Baby wipes, Laundry detergent, Women's Pajama pants (all sizes), and towels. Please bring your donations to the front office or to Mrs. Silva's room. Thank you for your help in serving the needs of our community!

9th and 10th graders - if you do NOT have a charger, you must leave your chromebook with Mrs. Burden TODAY before school is out so she can charge it for testing tomorrow and Wednesday.

All Juniors will be taking the ASVAB on Tuesday morning, May 3rd in the Auditorium. Please report directly to the auditorium Tuesday morning at 7:55. You will be finished testing by lunch time. Please read your email from Ms. Fleming that explains the ASVAB and the information you will receive from taking it.

Aspire testing for all 9^th and 10^th will be Tuesday and Wednesday. Be in the cafeteria at 8:00 a.m. Make sure your Chromebooks are charged and ready each day. You should know room assignments and be ready to go.

Prom decorating has begun. No students can enter the practice gym.

Cost for Prom is $20 per person. Doors will open at 9 p.m. not before. All royalty must attend the Courthouse Promenade. All Promenade Forms are due Wednesday and all Forms are mandatory. The Courthouse Promenade begins at 5 p.m. Saturday, April 9. You enter the courthouse by the doors next to the Sheriff’s office across from Central Baptist Church. You must be at the courthouse at 4:30 p.m. DO NOT come through the front door facing Walgreens. Your name is only announced one time. If you arrive late it will not be re-announced.

Senior Beta Club Members, if you wish to order a Beta Club Graduation Stole, they are $17.00. See Mr. Hopkins by Thursday, April 7.

Softball will have a makeup game tomorrow against Genoa at 5:00 p.m.

9^th grade Track will travel to Nashville for the Jr. Scrapper Relay. Track will be dismissed at 1:30 today.

Panthers will be hosting the Varsity District Basketball tournament Thursday and Saturday. Games begin at 4:00 pm. Admission is $5.00 for everyone. AAA passes are the only passes that will get in free. No student, faculty or Senior Passes will work for this tournament. No outside food or drinks allowed in gym.

Because of the tournament, buses will pick up at the end of the 500 hallway this week. All bus riders will exit by Mrs. Silva’s classroom.

There will be no parking in front of the gym this week at any time. Guest will be arriving on campus between 3-3:30 and will be parking in front of the gym area.

Students: check your email. You have been sent a link to vote for your favorite piece of artwork. The last day to vote is Friday, February 25^th.

No student, faculty or Senior Passes will work for this tournament. No outside food or drinks allowed in gym.

Reminder Valentine’s Day is Monday. Let your parent’s no there will be NO BALLOONS accepted and that all deliveries must be delivered by 1:00 p.m. to the library.

Mrs. Ardwin’s classes today will be in her classroom.

High School will be accepting Valentine Deliveries on Monday February 14^th only. NO BALLOONS will be accepted. All deliveries must be delivered by 1:00 p.m. to the library. Mrs. Smith and her helpers will then deliver all Valentines to the classes 7^th period except for those students in athletics will be delivered the end of 6^thperiod. Make sure you let your Parents know.

A Coffee Gram can be purchased for your Valentine to be delivered on Valentine's Day! Turn in your form with your $4 to the Coffee Shop before Thursday, Feb. 10^th. You may fill out the card once you turn in your form. Mrs. Tipton is not here this week.

A Coffee Gram can be purchased for your Valentine to be delivered on Valentine's Day! Pick up a form from Mrs. Tipton, the Library, or the Office. Turn in the form to Mrs. Tipton or the Coffee Shop before Thursday, Feb. 10th with $4. You may fill out the card once you turn in your form.

Panthers will host the Fouke Panthers tonight. Varsity Girls will begin play at 6:00 with Varsity boys following. We will recognize all senior players beginning at 5:30. Good Luck Panthers!!

Shooting sports practice for this weekend has been cancelled. New practice schedules will be sent out through the group Remind for shooting sports. Be sure that you and your parents are signed up for the NEW Remind group for this school year. Last year's Remind group will not get the messages.

AHS Top 4 Beauty Pageant will be held Thursday, February 3, 2022 in the high school Auditorium at 6:00 p.m. Admission is $5.00.

Panther Wrestling team will travel to Pulaski Academy today. Team will be released at 1:15.

Those attending FBLA District Conference and Competition should meet in the coffee shop by 7:30 a.m.in the morning to leave. Make sure you are in FBLA attire.

Any junior who is interested in applying for Arkansas Governor's School this summer needs to go by the counselor's office for more information. Arkansas Governor's School is a 4-week summer residential program that focuses on building leadership skills.

Beta Club Induction Ceremony will be this Thursday at 1:00 p.m. in the Parker Gym.

We all had a great Homecoming Week, Thanks to Mrs.Rowe and Mrs. Jewell and to all the class sponsors. Congratulations to Zoi Hurd, Homecoming Queen and Sara Bowman, Maid of Honor. Also the Class winners for this week are as follows: 1^st Place – Seniors, 2^nd Place – Juniors, 3^rd Place – Sophomores, and 4^th Place – Freshmen.

Our Ashdown Purple Pride Marching Band will travel to Little Rock today to compete in State this morning. We want all students to send them off. We will do an all call on the intercom for all students to report to the front of the school. Good Luck to our PPMB.

Our students are working so hard and you have no idea how much there is to learn. 1) We will take Online order until 8:45 to be delivered by 9:30. None will be delivered after that.

2) If you are purchasing for another student in the shop, we will do multiple receipts so there is a name on each.

Beginning today All outside doors will be locked at 8:00 a.m. All students will check in out of the office. Do not exit any door except the front door when leaving. You will check out in the office. This includes all students.

Testing days will be come and go. You will not check-in or out through the office. Lunches will be served as soon as testing is complete on both days. Buses will not run until 3:23. After lunches students that remain on campus will be in room 312. If you are a bus rider you must remain on campus until the buses run. You cannot leave and come back on campus to ride the bus.

The test schedule for next week will be as follows: Monday will be a regular school day. Tuesday will be Full Day of Semester Review. Wednesday will be 1-4 period testing beginning at 8 a.m. and ending at 12 p.m. Thursday will be 5-7 period testing beginning at 8 a.m. and ending at 11:00 a.m. Lunch will be served both of those days as soon as testing is complete for the day. Buses will not run until 3:23 both test days. You will not check-in or out of the office on the test days and no messages will be taken from Parents to check you out. Make sure you are here on time for testing. Each test will begin on the hour.

Congratulations to all of our Agri Students that represented Ashdown High school the past 2 weeks in Little Rock at the State Fair. Caylee Turner won Grand Champion Arkansas bred goat and top 15 overall in the market goat show. Sam Ratliff won 3^rd in division 1 & 2 in Market Lamb show and finished in the top 15 overall. Lyndon Youngblood won the Grand Champion market hog. Lyndon also won reserve Grand Commercial gilt and champion gilt senior showman. Way to go Panthers. Pantherettes will travel to Ft. At 5:30 on Tuesday, September 17, AHS will be hosting a Super Smash Brothers Ultimate tournament in the cafeteria. Come play and compete with other students to find out who is the best in the school! There will be a $2 entry fee, and prizes will go to the top three competitors. Please see Mr. Glasgow in room 314 to sign up.

Panthers will host the Hope Bobcats tonight. Kick-off is at 7:30. Homecoming coronation will begin at 6:50.

Students that ride the bus home today need to make sure you are at the bus drive at 1:30.

The University of Arkansas recruiter will be here September 19th at 9 am. The Henderson recruiter will be here October 1st at 11:15 am. Juniors and Seniors interested can sign up in the counseling center!

Students a reminder, along with all cell phones, all smartwatches are to be off and out of sight.

All students that drive to school must have a parking permit. You will need to see Mrs. Connie Anderson in room 310 to purchase your parking permit. They are $10.

Class officer elections will be held via an emailed form on Thursday, August 22. The positions available are President, Vice President, Secretary/Treasurer, and Reporter. If you are interested in running, please email Mrs. Smith at [email protected]. Please state the position you would like to run for and what grade you are in. If you are a Student Council Officer, you may not run for class officer. Class officers will have LOTS of responsibility during homecoming week and throughout the school year. If you are not organized and responsible, please do not run.

School Pictures will be taken this Wednesday. You should have picked up your order envelope in your English Classrooms. You will have to provide payment in the envelope to present to the photographer Wednesday.
