Testing days will be come and go.  You will not check-in or out through the office.  Lunches will be served as soon as testing is complete on both days.  Buses will not run until 3:23.   After lunches students that remain on campus will be in room 312.  If you are a bus rider you must remain on campus until the buses run.  You cannot leave and come back on campus to ride the bus.

 

Students the Beauty Pageant deadline has been extended.  You have until this Wednesday to turn in your money and entry form.  Wednesday will be the last chance to enter.

 

FBLA Dist. IV Registration is due if you are competing on Feb. 6th.  It must be paid now or by Thursday, Jan 9th the week we get back.  It is $15 and covers your Amigo Juan lunch.

 

Three seniors need to pick up Cookie Dough - Rylie Day, Jake Day and Ebony Hawkins.  The Snickerdoodle was back ordered so if you were missing any there should have been a notice.  Pick up from Mrs. Tipton this week.

The test schedule for next week will be as follows:  Monday will be a regular school day.  Tuesday will be Full Day of Semester Review.  Wednesday will be 1-4 period testing beginning at 8 a.m. and ending at 12 p.m.  Thursday will be 5-7 period testing beginning at 8 a.m. and ending at 11:00 a.m.  Lunch will be served both of those days as soon as testing is complete for the day.  Buses will not run until 3:23 both test days.  You will not check-in or out of the office on the test days and no messages will be taken from Parents to check you out.  Make sure you are here on time for testing.  Each test will begin on the hour.

AHS FBLA is raising funds for Arkansas Children's Hospital.  Thank you to Mrs. Wortham, Mrs. Burden, Mr. Murray and Mrs. Adekunle that have volunteered for a Pie in the Face.  Please donate in the office to the jar of the teacher or administrator that you would like to see get a pie in the face.  This fundraiser will run for 2 weeks.  Please help us support ACH.

Any junior interested in applying for Arkansas Governor's School this summer needs to go by the counselor's office and see Ms. Fleming.  Governor's School is a four-week summer program held at Arkansas Tech University.

Tomorrow, Students will be out of school.  Teachers will have professional development from 8-12 and P/T Conferences from 1:00-6:00.

 

Thursday 10/24 all Juniors and Seniors are going to the College/Career Fair.  Busses will load at 8 am and we will return by the end of 3rd period.  Permission slips will be given out next Wednesday in your English classes.  If you do not have English with Mrs. Murry or Mr. Hopkins please come by the counseling center.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Congratulations to all of our Agri Students that represented Ashdown High school the past 2 weeks in Little Rock at the State Fair.  Caylee Turner won Grand Champion Arkansas bred goat and top 15 overall in the market goat show.  Sam Ratliff won 3rd in division 1 & 2 in Market Lamb show and finished in the top 15 overall.  Lyndon Youngblood won the Grand Champion market hog.  Lyndon also won reserve Grand Commercial gilt and champion gilt senior showman.  Way to go Panthers.

 

Pantherettes will travel to Ft. Lake today to take on the Cobras.  Varsity will begin play at 5:00.  Good Luck Pantherettes.

Dress up for Rival Week: today is Twin Tuesday, Wednesday will be Wavy Wednesday, “Let’s ride the wave to victory”  Dress in your best Hawaiian gear.  Thursday will be Tacky Thursday, Dress in your tackiest clothes.  Friday will be Purple and Gold Day/Apron Judging Day!

21st Annual Miss Land O Lights Pageant will be held November 2 at the AHS Auditorium.  Entry forms are in the office.

Panthers will host the Hope Bobcats tonight.  Kick-off is at 7:30.  Homecoming coronation will begin at 6:50.

The University of Arkansas recruiter will be here September 19th at 9 am.  The Henderson recruiter will be here October 1st at 11:15 am.  Juniors and Seniors interested can sign up in the counseling center!
