Welcome to Ashdown Junior High School! We are the A-Team!

At Ashdown Junior High, our mission is to be a school of excellence! We are scholars. We are friends. We are family. We are A-Team! We strive to reach our mission each day by providing students with a school home with high expectations for learning, a positive school culture, and a focus on teamwork where goals are achieved by working together.

Each student is part of an Advisory team where they will build relationships with a teacher and classmates, set personal and academic goals, track their progress, and develop important life skills like communication, teamwork, and problem-solving. During our daily RTI (Response to Intervention) time, students also receive personalized support or enrichment in reading, math, and science based on their individual learning needs.

Our school theme this year is "Work Hard, Play Hard." We want every student to challenge themselves, celebrate their growth, and take ownership of their learning. Throughout the year, students will set goals, monitor their progress, and lead conferences with their parents and teachers to share their successes and next steps.

Parents are invited to join the AJHS PTO (Parent Teacher Organization). This is a parent volunteer group who work closely with school leaders to support school goals with community events. Parents should enroll for free messages and reminders through the Band app. Once downloaded, search AJHS Parents 26-27 and follow along for information from the principal throughout the year.
