Ashdown Schools Offer Home Access with eSchoolPLUS

Ashdown School District is now fully set up with a new student information system (SIS) beginning this 2013-14 school year.  The SIS, called eSchoolPLUS, is 100% web-based and offers a highly efficient system for administration and management of student information such as demographics, scheduling, attendance, and grade reporting, as well as an easy communication tool between school and parents.  All Arkansas public schools are administering this program through a four-phase process;  Ashdown School District is part of Phase 3.

Through the Home Access Center, parents can now access their child’s records (attendance, grades, progress reports), as well as check the demographics on record for accuracy.  To access the website, parents should go to Internet Explorer, enter navigate from there.  The program is not accessible with Apple products at this time.  Ashdown eSchool trainer Melissa Kilgore states that letters were mailed to parents last September with details and contact information about the new system and its Home Access availability.

Teachers now use eSchooPLUS for recording and reporting grades and interim progress reports.  The “bugs” are being worked out, according to Kilgore, and teachers will find it easier to transfer grades to report cards.  Parents will still receive printed report cards and interim progress reports, but now also have the convenience of viewing online.  Parents, especially those of secondary students, are appreciating the ability to check attendance records.

Kilgore reports that the next scheduled interim progress reports will be sent home and available for online access on Nov. 21.  Anyone needing help can email at or call the secretary at the child’s school office.
