Ashton Mays & Darron Baker

Ashton Mays, a senior at Ashdown High School, competed in the class 4 A state track meet Thursday, May 14, 2009, and won the high jump contest with a jump of 6 feet 5 inches. Ashton competed in the MEET OF CHAMPS Wednesday, May 20 and won 2nd place with all schools in the state sending their best to compete. Ashton plans to attend Arkansas Baptist College in Little Rock.

Darron Baker, a senior from Ashdown High School, competed in the State Decathalon, May 27-28, 2009. Darron received the honor of finishing in 6th place. The competition showcased the best 55 track atheletes from all divisions and classifications. Darron also competed at 6 track meets this season for Ashdown High School. He received 5 HIGH POINT AWARDS for his efforts at those track meets. Darron plans to attend The University Of Texas / Tyler to compete in track and basketball.
