Congratulations Ashdown Purple Pride band on being an Arkansas Sweepstakes band for 2006-2007. They received a 1st Division Rating at Concert and Sight reading Assessment on March 3rd. This, as well as, the same ratings for marching earned our band the sweepstakes award.

2006-2007 yearbooks will be sold differently this year. They may be purchased a from any journalism member. The cost is $38.50 and that includes free personalization. You must pay with a check or money order. Also, we will sell yearbooks during lunch starting Monday, March 12th. If you want a yearbook, be sure to purchase one. There will not be any extras ordered
Last week at the 2007 EAST conference in Hot Springs the Ashdown High School Rural Broadband Market Plan team won third place and a prize of $500. The team members include Elizabeth Davis (Linda Davis-CD), Lila Sivley, and Mitchell Jones.
Congratulations to Marcel Burris, Cameron Mosley, Elliot Metzger, Brody Schuets, Jonathan Nolen and Ashley Rechkemmer for winning the gifts to promote good school attendance. Principal Lin Johnson said, “Research shows a definite correlation with good attendance, better grades and higher graduation rates.”
The Ashdown Purple Pride Band will be having a chicken spaghetti dinner on Friday, March 16th (this is an in-service day). The cost is $5 and can be purchased from high school band students, their parents, or e-mailing Mrs. Pounds at pounds@ipa.net. They will be delivering to the campus’s main office, just let me know what time you will have your lunch break (or you may order meals to take home for dinner.)
Jr. High students are not allowed on the High School campus after school each day. Students may only enter the campus if they have athletics or band for the last period class.
