Congratulations to Chance Jewell
for placing first in his division and 2nd overall at theDeQueen Mena Education Cooperative Regional Science Fair.
Linda Davis, teacher at C.D. Franks Elementary
recently earned the title of ArkansasVeterans of Foreign Wars Citizenship Education Teacher of the Year. The award was
presented by the Billy T. Norton VFW Post 4562 in Texarkana, Ar. James and Mary
Sutton nominated her for the statewide award. Linda skillfully uses the “Preamble to
Davis Dogs Constitution” as a teaching tool to …form …a more perfect class. Davis
received $500 from the Ladies Auxiliary and the state VFW gave her a trophy in the form
of an apple.
The awards keep rolling in as Ashdown School District students and staff
make their mark in education. I don’t think I have ever seen a time when
the district has received so many awards for performance. I salute all of
you students and staff who are doing so many outstanding things. It is
hard to keep up with all your awards. What a great place to be!!!!
Ashdown—with a small school atmosphere and large school
accomplishments.
