Special Called Meeting
September 29, 2011
The Board of Education of the Ashdown Public Schools held a special called meeting on Thursday, September 29, 2011 at Central Office.
Raymond Latson called the meeting to order at 6:05 p.m.
Ricky Ward called the roll. Rosa Bowman, Raymond Latson, Bradley Day, Ricky Ward, Chuck Davis, Dorothy Henderson and Michael Turner were all present.
Raymond Latson led the prayer.
Michael Turner led the Pledge of Allegiance.
Mr. Walker made a recommendation to enter into an agreement with Attorneys M. Chad Trammell and The Trammell Law Firm, PLLC; Marc E. Gravely and Gravely & Pearson, LLP; and Eric T. Bishop and Bishop and Bishop to pursuit and investigation of Wade Abernathy, Inc. and all others related affiliates and subcontractors, with respect to construction defects for work performed on Ashdown High School and the High School Track. Dorothy Henderson made a motion to accept the recommendation. Michael Turner seconded. Motion carried.
Mr. Walker made a recommendation to nominate Rosa Bowman for a Region 12 Board Member. Chuck Davis made a motion to accept the recommendation. Dorothy Henderson seconded. Motion carried.
Dorothy Henderson left the room at 5:42 p.m. and returned at 5:50 p.m.
Mr. Walker made a recommendation to approve the 2011-2012 School Budget. Dorothy Henderson made a motion to accept the recommendation. Bradley Day seconded. Motion carried.
Michael Turner made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 6:30 p.m. Dorothy Henderson seconded. Motion carried.
