The Board of Education of the Ashdown Public Schools held a special called meeting on Thursday, May 19, 2011 at Central Office.
Board Vice President Chuck Davis called the meeting to order at 5:15 p.m.
Chuck Davis called the roll. Rosa Bowman, Michael Turner, Imogene Mize, Chuck Davis were present. Raymond Latson, Dorothy Henderson, and Ricky Ward were absent.
The meeting began with prayer by Imogene Mize.
The Pledge of Allegiance was recited by the board.
Mr. Walker made a recommendation to accept the quote from Fruhauf Uniforms, Inc. to purchase band uniforms at a cost of $26,585.56 plus tax. Michael Turner made a motion to accept the recommendation. Imogene Mize seconded. Motion carried.
Mr. Walker made a recommendation to accept the resignation of Julie Backus effective at the end of the current contract. Rosa Bowman made motion to accept the recommendation. Michael Turner seconded. Motion carried.
Imogene Mize made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 5:20 p.m. Michael Turner seconded. Motion carried.
