Letter from the principal

To the parents and children of C. D. Franks Elementary,

Welcome to our school! This year is going to be great with many fun activities planned for you and your child.  We will have a Family Math and Literacy Night in September providing an opportunity for you to learn about your child’s day and a Family Science Night in the spring focusing on Science. The Fall Festival will be in October. It is a great occasion for the family to enjoy lots of food and fun! In February, we will take the students to the Perot Theatre to watch Imaginocean, a black light show.  Additionally, we will have our Christmas and Valentine’s Day parties and the end of year celebration. As time approaches for these activities more information will be sent home.

Our school values parents as one of its best resources. In this partnership, we will do our best to provide your child a safe and challenging atmosphere in which to learn. Here are some suggestions to help us provide the best education for your child:

·         The tardy bell rings at 7:55 this year. Please make sure your child is in class by then. Please do not drop your child off before 7:30.

·         Make certain your child eats breakfast every morning. If he/she will be eating at school, please have him/her here by 7:45.

·         The school day ends at 3:05. First bus group will leave at this time. Car riders and walkers will be released at 3:10. Please allow your child to remain in class until the bell rings. Instruction is taking place the whole time.

·         A full night’s rest is important for children. Make sure your child has nine hours of sleep each night.

Our school theme for this year is "We are WILD about learning"! I look forward to a wonderful year with you and your child. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact the office to schedule an appointment to see me.

Sincerely,

Teresa Wake, Principal
