Ashdown High School Graduates

Hello to all my old classmates! If you recall about graduation time so many years ago, Mr. Randy Ates was pretty much headed toward emergency services work either as a police officer, firefighter or paramedic. Well, as the years have gone by I've played firefighter and medic in several locations, moved up the career ladder and eased my way northward with each new job. Now I'm in the Kansas City metro area serving as Fire Chief for the small city of Eudora, Kansas. I guess I never outgrew those firetrucks! One month after graduating from Ashdown High School I went to Basic Training for the Army. I was a Military Policeman in Ft Drum, Ny, Republic of Korea, New York City, and Ft Ritchie Maryland. After leaving the Army I took a job working as a Correctional Officer in Abilene, Tx. I joined the Army Reserves and have traveled to Germany, Spain, Ireland, Bosnia, Kosovo, Iraq, Kuwait, and Syria. I am currently married to my darling wife Julie, who was born in England and we have 3 dogs and one pig.

I was 5 months pregnant when I graduated AHS in 1986, My oldest son will be 20 Sept 8th, My only daughter is almost 18, son 15, and final son 12 yrs old. I moved to Kansas City, Missouri with high school sweetheart and married there.

Now divorced since 1997, I live in Wylie Texas, (suburb of Dallas) working as a Credentialing Coordinator in making sure Metroplex physicians licence to practice stay current. When I get to visit Ashdown I seldom see classmates.

I am married to my high school sweetheart, Mark and we have three beautiful children, 2 girls and a boy. I teach preschool at Presbyterian Day School, webmaster this site and Margaret Daniel/C.D. Franks site, I am PTO President at the elementary school, and I am active with other community groups and at my church.

Tracy Mays married Keith Mays on August 22, 1987, moved to Virginia, Keith was in the US NAVY stationed in Norfolk. Our oldest son was born there, Jonathan (Jon) Mays age 17, a junior at Mineral Springs and has surrendered to the ministry. Andrew age 14, Matthew age 8, both born after we moved back here. Keith is a machinist for Electrolux Home Products for the past 16 years and is pastor of Liberty Baptist Church in Mineral Springs. Tracy is youth director of the church, and works for the Mineral Springs School district East Program and substitutes there also. Our children attend Mineral Springs school and are very involved in school and church functions. We live in a home that we built two years ago, outside of Mineral Springs on 15 acres in the country. We would love to hear from or see some of our high school friends again. We run into some of them through church functions occasionally. I am married and have two great children (Katie, 10yrs. and Andrew, 18mos.) We currently live in Malvern, AR (close to Hot Springs), but will be moving to Rocklin, CA either this summer or fall with my job. I do marketing for a company called Cell Marque which makes antibodies for cancer testing in patients and I also do some freelance website stuff on the side.

When I was a senior in Ashdown iIwas five months pregnant with my daughter who is now working at Burger King and EZ Mart there in Ashdown since then I have been divorced and had a son who is now a senior at Ashdown and just recently graduated basic training for the Army in FT Sill Oklahoma. It doesn't seem like we have all been out of school for 20 years man how time flies and things change. I am currently working for ST Michael Hospital in Texarkana as a CNA with plans to start LVN school in the spring then on to my RN with a BSN degree from there my email is listed would like to hear from some of my old classmates.

I graduated from Ashdown in 1986, since then I have gotten married, had 3 children,A 19yr old College freshman, 17yr old Junior,16yr old freshman. We lived in Waco,Tx for 15yrs and moved to Huntsville,Tx 4yrs ago. I work at Huntsville Intermediate School. We visit family in Ashdown during Summers and Holidays.
