Ashdown High School Football was well represented with players Chris French, Cody Barton, and Patrick Christopher playing in the OD All American Bowl on Saturday December 30th in New Orleans, LA.
While attending an Offense-Defense Football Camp in Dallas this summer, Cody Barton, of Ashdown, was named an Offense-Defense All-American Most Valuable Player (MVP) and was invited to participate in the 12th Annual Offense-Defense Bowl Dec. 27-30 in New Orleans.
This is Cody’s second year to receive this prestigious honor as he was invited and competed in the 11th Annual All American Bowl in Atlanta, Ga., in 2016 whereby his team, the “Blitz,” were victorious in winning their 2016 Bowl Game.
Chris French and Patrick Christopher have been named to the 2017 Offense-Defense All-American Bowl and invited to participate in the 12th Annual Offense-Defense Bowl Week festivities taking place this December in New Orleans, La.
Chris and Patrick were selected for this honor from an outstanding group of thousands of athletes across the country, their outstanding play this season representing Ashdown , validating the Offense-Defense Bowl Selection Committee’s choice in selecting them for the All-American Bowl game.
The Offense-Defense All-American Bowl is the culmination of a weeklong of events for the athletes. Prior games have featured current NFL pros such as Heisman Trophy winners Lamar Jackson and Cam Newton, as well as Joe Haden, Dez Bryant and many others before they were collegiate and later professional stars.
